Mt Barker Jct

A proposed 'dogbone' layout plan:
This layout provides continuous train running to keep onlookers happy at an exhibition display. The design had to 1) consider through trains from Adelaide to the South-East of the state and Melbourne and vice versa, and 2) trains to Victor Harbor and return.

The mainline loop circulates trains using the main South line, while trains on the Victor Harbor line just move out and in of a stub fiddle yard. Trains from Victor Harbor enter from the Mt Barker end and pass through Mt Barker Junction, possibly meeting opposing Main or Victor trains, and then proceeding to the Balhannah end and into the stub fiddle tracks for changing around.

Victor Harbor line trains would be assembled in the stub fiddle yard and proceed to Victor Harbor via the Balhannah end.
